Government
Grant
Power Tip!
The government isn't the only place for grants. Businesses also award grants.
They can be awarded to other businesses, small start-up companies, and even artists.
A large corporation may commission a large piece of artwork or sculpture for
their office and offer a grant to the artist.

Government
Grant Power Tip!
A grant may be used to start a business
or to help a business grow. Usually they are part of a
financial "package" that includes grants and loans. And
with interest rates at very low levels, a home equity loan
can help make up the difference between a grant and the
funding needed for a project. It's possible to get a second
mortgage as low as 4.00% A.P.R.

Grant Forms
The most important aspect of the grant process
is the paperwork. This is known as grant writing. A clearly written grant proposal
will go a long way towards garnering the money you need. If you have any doubts
or concerns, call your local U.S. Representatives office for your district.
They are usually listed in the blue pages of the phone book. The staff there
can usually provide guidelines as to what you need to include in your grant
proposal and what should be left out.
And remember, a grant is usually only part of
the equation provided for funding. Usually you will receive part of your finances
as a "no-repay" grant, some as low-cost or no-cost government loans,
and some may have to be obtained by your through personal loans, business loans,
or home equity loans (which can be the most-beneficial type of loans due to
their tax-saving implications). Home equity loans, also called second
mortgages are currently as low as 4.00% A.P.R. which means more
money in your pocket and less interest that you need to repay.
